Website enquiry privacy information

This notice concerns enquiries sent through the Handy Helpers website. Handy Helpers is a social enterprise managed by Darndale Belcamp Social Enterprises CLG (DBSE). DBSE is responsible for the handling of the personal information collected by this form.

What we collect and why

When you complete the form, we collect your name, at least one contact method (email or telephone), the type of enquiry, any Dublin area you choose, and the message you send. We use this information to respond, discuss services or referral arrangements, and decide what follow-up is appropriate. We rely on legitimate interests to manage enquiries, or take steps at your request towards arranging a service where applicable.

Please do not include medical details, clinical records or other sensitive personal information in the general enquiry form. For a sensitive referral, contact us first so we can agree a secure way of sharing information.

Who receives the information

Enquiries are delivered to [email protected] and handled by relevant Handy Helpers and DBSE staff. LetsHost provides website hosting and email services; Cloudflare provides website traffic routing and security. These providers may process limited technical information needed to operate and protect the website.

How long information is kept

DBSE's published privacy policy states that routine enquiries and replies, where they do not form part of another service record, are retained only while needed and for a maximum of two years. Where an enquiry becomes part of a job, service, financial or safeguarding record, a different retention period may apply under DBSE's policies.

Technical security and cookies

The site may use technical information for security and reliability. When the enquiry form is submitted, a short-lived, essential session cookie helps limit repeated submissions. No advertising or marketing cookie is required by this form.

Your rights and contact details

You can request information about your personal data, request correction or deletion where applicable, and exercise other rights under data protection law. For details of the Data Protection Officer, complaints and rights, read DBSE's full privacy policy. You may also contact Handy Helpers on (01) 877 1600.

You can complain to the Data Protection Commission.
